pulsebar runs on your PC. It has no account, doesn’t track you, and doesn’t send anything about what you do. This page lists everything it does send, and why.
During the Free Trial
About every 30 minutes of use, pulsebar sends 2 things to its trial server: an anonymous ID for your PC (a one-way hash of the Windows machine ID, which can’t be turned back into it) and the number of trial seconds you’ve used. That’s how the trial carries on, rather than starting over, if pulsebar is reinstalled. The server keeps those 2 values and the dates it first and last saw them. Nothing else.
When You Buy and Activate
Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, who act as the seller and take care of tax and refunds. Their checkout collects what a purchase needs, such as your email and payment details, under their own privacy policy. pulsebar never sees your payment details.
When you enter your licence key, pulsebar sends it to Lemon Squeezy with your PC’s name, so the activation shows in your list of devices. It checks the key again about once a week.
What Stays on Your PC
- Your searches, files, apps and window titles.
- Your system stats, timers, alarms and settings.
- The music visualiser. It listens to what your speakers play to draw the bars, keeps only the last few milliseconds, and never records or uploads audio.
- Album art and track names, which come from Windows and only appear in the island.
Removing Your Data
Uninstalling pulsebar removes everything it keeps on your PC. To have your PC’s trial record deleted from the server, send an email and it will be removed.
